Sharing Our Love For Filipino Food

About Us

Our Mission:

Sharing our love for Filipino food while fighting food insecurity.

One of the drivers for creating Kuya's Cooking was to promote our personal take on Filipino-American cuisine and bring it to the forefront of the American culinary mainstream.Even though Filipinos are the fourth-largest immigrant population in the US, the unique pallet of Filipino cuisine is largely underrepresented in the American food tradition. Filipino food has flown under the radar for far too long. It’s time to give Filipino cuisine the spotlight it deserves. In addition to sharing the love for food, Kuya’s Cooking helps promote the completion of UN Sustainable Development Goal #2: Zero Hunger https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/hunger/. In the spirit of fighting food insecurity & making a world with no hunger a reality, a portion of all Kuya’s Cooking proceeds is donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Aldrin Agas

Kuya’s Cooking was founded by Aldrin Agas, a first-generation Filipino American. Aldrin learned his love of cooking through his father, a US Navy Veteran, who specialized in feeding thousands of sailors during the Gulf Wars. Growing up, Aldrin cultivated his love for food in many ways - from tending to his parent’s vegetable garden during grade school, idolizing Alton Brown & Martin Yan, to cooking traditional Filipino dishes for his family at a young age - he even wrote his college admissions essay about cooking! After spending a decade in the hospitality industry, Aldrin wanted to return to his first love of cooking and his roots in FIlipino cuisine. Through Kuya’s Cooking, he hopes to share that love of Filipino food with you.
